The memories will remain with me forever – Ronnie Burns
A wonderful Euro Show, from the excellent venue, great food, beautiful surroundings and not forgetting top quality bobtails.
The baby puppies, puppies and youngsters were excellent which bodes well for the future of our beloved breed. Some very promising puppies and youngsters went unplaced and I felt for them. Some baby puppies found the new smells just too interesting, I wish we could bring puppies of 4-6 months into the ring in the UK, particularly at Club Shows, nothing quite like the experience at that age. Better than any ringcraft class.
I found eye colour very good with plenty of pigment giving the typical bobtail expression. Generally correct dentition. Front and rear assembly was very good. The rising topline was also much in evidence. Movement overall was excellent. It was a privilege to judge the intermediate classes due to Ray’s excellent entry exceeding the FCI rules on the number of dogs (80) allowed to be judged in one day. Top quality young dogs and bitches in these classes also.
My veteran dogs were most impressive and I loved them both, the bitches were truly lovely and all in great condition a real credit to their owners. Thank you all for your entry, it was a real honour to judge your dogs.
I must give a big thank you to my excellent ring support team, my scribe did an excellent job although some words I do not quite recognise, however sometimes things get lost in translation. My ring steward was first class and kept everything running smoothly and efficiently.
I would like to thank the Dutch committee for all their hard work. They put on a tremendous show. Lovely plates and rosettes for all entries, a fantastic catalogue with those special touches.
Last but by no means least I would like to thank Ray Owen for inviting me to be his co-judge at this most prestigious show. The memories will remain with me forever.
